Carrington Jr.

30 Aug

I love 80’s Aaron Spelling glamour girls!!!!! or beauty girls as I called them when I was young.  So I am loving this modern day Dynasty look on Whitney Port.  Its a little old lady but it works (while her hair clings to the 80’s the mini skirt and shoes keep it young…..accessories and styling ,people, never doubt the necessity of these 2 things.  Even a non decision is a decision.)

To Die For

Christina Hendricks in Zac Posen.  Thank you thank you thank you.  We have fullness where we need it and she is nipped in where it makes sense……this color is ethereal and just breathtaking on her.  In conclusion: brilliant!!!!

Walk like an Egyptian

Well who would have thought that this would be the hemline of the Emmy’s? It’s awkward at best.  I respect Anna Paquin.  She makes some ballsy red carpet choices, seemingly based in love of the art and drama of fashion and perhaps brand loyalty (and maybe a dash of “dare to be different” je ne sais quoi, screw the mainstream).  This Alexander McQeen dress is stunning, daring and edgy, it does very little for her figure but I can understand why she chose it and I would like to think it’s a move I would have made if ever given the option.

Gay Rights

26 Aug

Here is Rachel Bilson signing a Gay rights petition…..so yay for Rachel! and yay for looking so stylish whilst doing so. Love the simple black, embroidered yoke (that word was Team Blue Hill effort to obtain, tyvm)  We have the high fashion: black quilted Chanel bag and the (seemingly)low:awesome, wedge clog hybrids AND a jean jacket!?! This is very Los Angeles does Williamsburg…..and who doesn’t love that?

Part of Your World

These are earrings by Disney.  Little Mermaid inspired, kinda pricey Disney couture earrings. I can’t tell if there are inspired by Ursula or by King Triton’s  triton (wow, creative much Disney writers?) but I dig them.

Getting through Haiti

She weighs 8lbs with her clothes on but I love her. I LOVE HER! and those shoes are amaze-balls.

Supernova

The look of Stella McCartney for fall 2010:Chunky Sweaters!!!!!(I hear that said in a joyous Oprah yell).  This one, pictured here, is not the most extreme in the collection but it’s still quite charming (and Natalia Vodianova looks so cozy and ambivalent in this advert).  Images, like this one, make me very excited for the cooler weather, which the designers have truly embraced this season.  McCartney, can of course be counted on for an animal friendly, green approach.  I dare you go check out Chanel’s take on warmth….two words: Faux Fur, two more words: pants and body suits.
